The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating its Faith & Blue Weekend with a series of community events. Today, the office is hosting its annual Fishing Rodeo at Reed-Harvey Park, running until 2 p.m. Participants are encouraged to bring their best fishing gear and lucky charms, as prizes will be awarded for the biggest catch. The event promises a day of friendly competition, laughter, and memorable experiences.

The weekend festivities kicked off Friday night with a free movie night at Grand River Drive-In in Leeds. The celebration continues tomorrow with a WOW (When Officers Worship) mini music fest at Refresh Family Church on 12th Court Northwest in Birmingham at 4 p.m. Additionally, on Monday, the sheriff’s office will offer a free car wash at the Fountain of Life Church off 2nd Avenue North in Bessemer from 9 a.m. to noon.
