LAWTON (KFDX/KJTL) — After many years of development, a local independent film is finally on its way to the film festival.
Nicholas Moore of Moore Digital Studios is finally unveiling Where Silence Lies at the Hot Springs Horror Film Festival on November 16.
The psychological thriller follows a real-time interrogation of the last living member of the wealthiest family in town after a triple homicide. The film was originally shot over six days in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2021.
After missing the deadline for the 2021 Sundance Film Festival and Moore moving to Lawton in 2022, the film was shelved until his mentor, Edgar Burcksen, had a new ending idea and brought Max Mitchell from Arkansas to finish the film.
When life kept hitting them and delayed the film even more, Edgar had passed away in April 2024, and it wasn’t until October of that year that Moore was able to finally get Edgar’s files and finish the film in March of 2025.
Despite the many delays and the tragic loss of Edgar, Moore was able to finish their work and get a product ready to show to the public.
The Hot Springs Horror Film Festival will start on November 14 and last until the 16. For more information on Where Silence Lies, visit Moore Digital Studios’ official website. For more information on the Hot Springs Horror Film Festival, visit the Facebook event page.
