I know where I’m putting my bets
Rumours are flying right now as BBC has teased a cast announcement for the latest series of Celebrity Race Across the World, with two members already confirmed.
The third season is expected to air later this year, showcasing four celebs as they traverse multiple countries with no phones, flights or VIP treatment. Accompanied by only their nearest and dearest, there are no clues yet as to where this year’s race will take place.
“What’s in my bag” style posts on Instagram have led to some serious guesswork from fans, with hints including the Albert Square street sign, a radio with the words “Woman’s Hour” and a football spread across the post.
Previous winners of the all star casts have included Radio 2 presenter Scott Mills, who confirmed the first of the celebs this morning on his breakfast show. So far, online theories have proved pretty accurate, so we’re sifting through the most popular theories while we wait for the final line-up.
Here’s the rumoured line up in the Celebrity Race Across the World season three cast.
Dylan Llewellyn
Rumoured or confirmed: Confirmed
You might recognise the 33-year-old actor from hit series Derry Girls, where he made a name as the “wee English fella”. Dylan also starred in BBC’s Big Boys, and the Brent University ID in the teaser post was a dead giveaway for fans of the show.
He’s been confirmed to star alongside his mum Jackie, revealing that their journey on the show had “lots of ups and downs”. Would we trust James from Derry Girls to lead us through the unknown? Probably not, but clearly his mum does.
Anita Rani
Rumoured or confirmed: Confirmed
Pretty huge hints were dropped left that presenter and journalist Anita is going to be on this years cast, confirming the theory on radio today. The 47-year-old has hosted Woman’s Hour on BBC Radio 4 since 2021, and the radio bearing the same name was a bit of a dead giveaway. Points for subtlety are not going to these teasers. Having been a presenter on Countryfile for nearly a decade, Anita is no stranger to the great outdoors. She’ll be participating with her dad, and we think they’re the team to watch.
Roman Kemp
Rumoured or confirmed: Rumoured
Let’s be honest, this guy looooves a bit of reality TV. The 32-year-old presenter has some pretty obvious clues in his post, including a One Show card – a nod towards his stint there. Kemp hosts the podcast, You About, alongside Tom Grennan, and finished up third in I’m a Celeb in 2019. Signs of a Grennan t-shirt and creepy crawlies point toward another crack at winning an endurance race. I wonder how the jungle compares to £3.5o hostels?
Molly Rainford
Rumoured or confirmed: Rumoured
Finally, Molly Rainford is rumoured to be in the Celebrity Race Across the World season three cast. The Albert Square sign coupled with disco balls and a bedazzled microphone has led to speculation that the 24-year-old singer and actress might be making the cut this year. Best known for playing Anna Knight on EastEnders, she made her debut on screen as a finalist in the sixth season of Britain’s Got Talent.
Viewers are convinced that the strappy heel in the teaser post hints towards her appearance in Strictly Come Dancing. Here’s to hoping she leaves those behind, I wouldn’t want to run to catch a night bus in dancing shoes.
