It’s been three months since the winners of the regular version of Race Across The World were announced, as Tom and Caroline reached the coveted checkin book first. And we’re already so excited for another series, which is pretty handy as Celebrity Race Across The World season three is on the way very soon.

The celebrity version of the reality competition series, will see four pairs of celebrities and their loved ones race across the world in order to win a cash prize for a charity of their choosing.

Last year saw Scott Mills and his now-husband Sam Vaughan walk away with the prize, after beating Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy, Jeff Brazier and his son Freddie, and Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen in the race.

But when does the show return this year? And who is taking part? Here’s what you need to know.

When does Celebrity Race Across The World season 3 start?

Earlier today (18 September) last year’s winner Scott Mills announced on his radio show Celebrity Race Across The World season three would be coming to the BBC “in the autumn”, however an exact date is yet to be officially confirmed.

Last year the show aired 14 August to 18 September, while the first series aired from 20 September to 25 October, so the third season is going to have a later start date than both its former series.

Who will be competing in Celebrity Race Across The World season 3?

Yesterday the BBC confirmed there will be four pairings competing on this year’s series.

So far they’ve teased all four pairings but only confirmed two of them. First up is actor and Derry Girls’ star Dylan Llewellyn, who is taking part in the challenge alongside his mum Jackie. Dylan is also known for his roles in Big Boys and Beyond Paradise.

The pair’s announcement took place on Scott Mills’ Radio 2 show, with Dylan saying of the challenge, “It’s like a whole whirlwind of emotions, and so many struggles and challenges. But also, I feel like you grow a lot as a person. I feel like I’m a better person after it.”

Also confirmed to take part is BBC Woman’s Hour presenter Anita Rani, who will be racing across the world with her dad Bal. Anita shared the news on her Instagram earlier today, before adding: “I can’t tell you anymore than that, you’ll have to watch it to find out but yeah I got to do the dream programme.”

What is the route for Celebrity Race Across The World season 3?

This year the racers will be travelling in Central America. Their starting point will be in Mexico, and they’ll end the journey in Colombia, covering nearly 6,000km in the process.
