UTICA, N.Y. — The Haunted Uptown, an improvised ghost tour, will bring South Utica’s historic theater to life on Friday.
The event will take place at the Uptown Theatre for Creative Arts on Genesee Street.
Showtimes are scheduled for 8 p.m., 8:20 p.m. and 8:40 p.m. on Oct. 24.
Tickets are available here or at the door.
Devin Mahoney, UTCA director, said, “The Uptown is a theater with a soul. When you walk through it, you can feel the echoes of everyone who’s ever laughed, cried or performed here. This show lets those echoes speak—and it turns out they’re funny, weird and wonderfully human.”
Built in 1926, the Uptown Theatre has been a South Utica landmark for nearly a century.
The nonprofit UTCA, which operates the theater, is currently restoring the building.
