Celebrity Traitors fans are convinced they have ‘rumbled’ the next big betrayal among the famous faces on the BBC hit, after spotting two of its stars teaming up to make content online.

Earlier this month, fans watched on as host Claudia Winkleman selected chat show host Jonathan Ross, comedian Alan Carr and singer Cat Burns as her Traitors.

The trio have so far gone from strength to strength when it comes to killing off their Faithful counterparts, having sent six players packing from Ardross Castle.

Presenter Clare Balding, actress Ruth Codd, EastEnders star Tameka Empson, Olympic diver Tom Daley, YouTuber Niko Omilana and singer Paloma Faith have already been ‘killed off’ by their co-stars.

But as attention turned towards ‘big dog’ Jonathan, 63, in recent episodes, Alan, 49, and Cat, 25, were seen discussing whether they would be prepared to throw him under the bus for their own success.

The comedian described him and Cat as ‘thick as thieves’, so much so that he would be willing to vote out Jonathan at the roundtable if needs be.

Now, fans think they’ve rumbled exactly what will happen next on the BBC series, as an increasing number of Faithful stars have begun to suspect the chat show host.

Not just thanks to their bond as Traitors, but off screen appearing in a number of social media posts and videos together since the series’ launch.

Last week, Alan and Cat donned their Traitors capes as they walked through the streets of London, singing along to Dolly Parton’s 9 To 5.

The hilarious clip followed Cat as she removed their cloaks from the washing machine, before panning to Alan ironing his and polishing his lantern.

Days before, Cat and Alan posted a video of themselves lip syncing to Nicki Minaj’s chart-topper Beez in the Trap and 4 Non Blondes’ What’s Up?.

The duo clocked up millions of views on the posts, with thousands of fans taking to the comments to praise the ‘iconic’ and ‘hilarious’ pair.

But other eagle-eyed followers were quick to notice that given their videos don’t feature fellow Traitor Jonathan, it could spell trouble for the presenter.

Some speculated that Jonathan’s lack of involvement suggested that Alan and Cat would soon betray him in order to remain unsuspected by their Faithful co-stars.

One viewer wrote: ‘Subtle foreshadowing that you both turned on Jonathan,’ while a second said: ‘Notice how Jonathan isn’t there cos they’re gonna backstab him and win together.’

‘Was that Jonathan Ross under the bus there?’ a third joked, while a fourth penned: ‘Hm. Where is Jonathan? Got his feet up by the fire…? OR…’

Last week, viewers were left ‘gutted’ as Clare Balding became the latest star to be banished from the hit BBC series.

During Thursday night’s episode, the remaining celebrities gathered around the round table to cast their votes on who they believed was secretly working as a Traitor.

The beloved journalist and presenter, 54, received the most votes after a whispering campaign by Traitor Jonathan Ross, who narrowly avoided getting exposed himself.

Standing in front of her co-stars, Clare said: ‘I came in with only one strategy, which was to be nice to absolutely everyone. I’ve had the best time, and I love all of you.

‘I am, and have been from the start, a Faithful.’

Gutted, Stephen Fry said: ‘Oh my god how are we so useless, we’ve lost a great Faithful. What have we done’.

Charlotte Church added: ‘She was such a good Faithful’.

Jonathan said to the camera: ‘I’ve got to be the luckiest Traitor, the Faithfuls did our dirty work for us. Everyone’s going to be scratching away at each other now’.

Clare’s banishment at the round table sparked a wave of reactions from fans, many of whom admitted they were ‘gutted’.

Elsewhere in the show, Traitors Jonathan, Alan Carr and Cat Burns decided to kill off Ruth Codd after she went for Jonathan during the round table.

Discussing their decision, the TV presenter said: ‘Ruth is not going to let it go and I feel like the cloak is getting tighter round my neck.’

‘This could back fire on you’, said Cat. Jonathan replied, ‘If I was a Traitors I wouldn’t do it, why would I put myself in the firing line’.

Alan added: ‘Yeah lets get rid now before she poisons everyone’.

Walking into her room to find the letter killing her, Ruth said: ‘I knew this was coming’, before joking, ‘Jonathan and Kate Garraway are traitors!’

The Traitors airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 9pm on BBC One and is available to stream on iPlayer.
