Attendees of the 29th annual Baltimore County African American Cultural Festival will be able to enjoy national recording artists, local talent, community programming, and more than 100 craft and food vendors.
Free and open to the public, the festival will take place Sept. 20 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Patriot Plaza in Towson.
This long-standing community celebration is attended by thousands every year, honoring African American culture, history, and achievements. Gracing the main stage this year will be Chubb Rock, Surface, and Force M.D.’s, hosted by Ryan the Lion and Marc Clarke.
Dr. Rev. Lee Michaels will host performers on the Gospel Stage, who will include Tony Winston, Stephen Boyd, Lucinda Moore, and Samar Newsome.
The event is open people of all ages, with 10 family-friendly zones, a Health and Wellness Pavilion, a Children’s Champion Zone, and a Youth Entrepreneurship Zone. In addition to the more than 100 craft and food vendors, attendees can visit educational, historical, gospel, and youth villages. There will be a DJ Tent and a Virtual Underground Railroad Experience highlighting the important Civil Rights history in Baltimore County.
The festival will honor and celebrate several groups, including the 2025 scholarship recipients, military heroes and “she-roes” (women heroes). Attendees can also learn about African American “firsts” and Women’s “HERstory.”
The nonprofit BCAACF, Inc. was founded in 1996 by Adrienne A. Jones, currently Speaker of the House of Delegates. She envisioned an arts and culture festival celebrating the traditions of the African American community. It supports charitable programs, scholarships, and historical preservation projects. The festival takes place on the third Saturday of every September. It is supported in part by the Baltimore County Office of Tourism and Promotion along with multiple community and corporate partners.
Admission to the festival is free, and there is free parking available. Patriot Plaza is located at 401 Bosley Ave. in Towson.
