The House of Dior officially opened its New York store last month, but with Fashion Week kicking off and celebrities in town, the timing was too good to resist a starry celebration. And while Dior is always worth talking about, the results here were…mixed.
Pretty Top, Somber Bottom
Priyanka Chopra’s Dior blue-and-brown check top with bow detail had promise, but pairing it with grey trousers felt too heavy. A flared skirt would have been the dream.
Mini but Minimal
Anna Sawai wore a Dior mini white dress with the same bow-and-logo motif Greta Lee wore in Venice. It’s basic at best, and the styling doesn’t help warm me up to this look.
Attitude in a Coat Dress
Ariana Greenblatt was the standout, breathing life into a Dior structured coat dress with her signature confidence. This one actually felt fresh.
Colour Over Blush
Alexandra Daddario wore one of those signature off-the-shoulder looks from the Dior Spring 2025 collection. The styling didn’t wow me, but it was refreshing to see her in a colour that isn’t blush.
Sister Style Consistency
Kate Mara’s playful Dior LBD was simple and sleek—very much her wheelhouse, and very much in line with her sister Rooney’s pared-back vibe.
Elegance in Satin
Danielle Deadwyler delivered one of the night’s most elegant moments in a duchess satin shawl collar Dior suit—sophisticated, striking, and polished.
Casual Dior Energy
Sam Nivola, face of Dior Men’s Spring 2026, embodied the new menswear direction in a half-zip sweater, jeans, and tri-colour sneakers. Casual, but very Dior under Anderson.
Let’s just say I’m hoping Anya Taylor-Joy’s recent Toronto look is the real blueprint for what’s ahead—because if this is it, I’m starting to panic.
