The founder of a local nonprofit organization announced her bid for Congress Tuesday.Rosemary Oglesby-Henry is the founder and CEO of Rosemary’s Babies Company, a nonprofit that provides resources, education, wellness and opportunities for teen parents in Greater Cincinnati.Oglesby-Henry officially announced her candidacy Tuesday, running as a Republican against incumbent Greg Landsman in for the U.S. House of Representatives in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District.“I’ve lived the American Dream from the ground up overcoming the challenges of being a teen mom while working to uplift my city and state,” Oglesby-Henry said. “For more than a decade, I have taught families that while choices have consequences, they should never strip away your God-given right to pursue and shape your own American Dream. Key aspects of the One Big Beautiful Bill inspired me to run as the first Black Republican candidate for Congress in Ohio’s 1st District because it reflects the conservative principles I have lived and taught for years. I am resiliently driven to restore trust in our leaders and renew faith in the American Dream. That vital work must be done in Washington.”Oglesby-Henry also helped open the Holloway House & Resource Center, a space to provide resources for young parents and their children.Landsman is now in his second term in Congress after defeating Republican challenger Orlando Sonza in November.

Oglesby-Henry officially announced her candidacy Tuesday, running as a Republican against incumbent Greg Landsman in for the U.S. House of Representatives in Ohio’s 1st Congressional District.
