Eboyné M. Jackson may wear a multitude of hats, including entrepreneur and brand strategist, but her dual role as the CEO and Director of Public Relations for her boutique agency Divine Influence PR is just one of many avenues where you’ve met her. Jackson, whose roster of notable names includes Ari Fletcher, Cliff Vmir, Sierra Gates, and more, has curated a creative powerhouse that positions her clients as thought leaders and experts within their respective fields. Whether it’s securing placements in prominent media outlets or elevating their brands, Jackson’s influence can be likened to the steam that subtly yet undoubtedly powers functioning machines, as her behind-the-scenes work has also uplifted the agency’s brand. As she celebrates nearly 15 years as a publicist, Jackson reflects on her beginnings in the industry, which came about after taking a chance on herself.

“My introduction to the world of public relations was very organic. God had used a friend of mine to initially help me discover my gift in public relations and communications. Earlier in my career, I started as a freelance journalist, writing for publications such as Huffington Post Black Voices, Fashion Bomb Daily, and SHEEN Magazine, where I am still the Associate Editor today. Years ago, my friend came to visit me at The Huffington Post Black Voices office in Manhattan, where I was interning at the time, and she convinced me to provide public relations services for A Celebrities for Charity Beauty & Fashion Show featuring R&B Sensation, Jazmine Sullivan. At first, I was hesitant because I didn’t have any public relations experience at the time, but I felt led to say ‘yes.’ And that ‘yes,’ turned into a full-fledged boutique public relations firm founded in 2011, almost 15 years ago, and by the grace of God, I have been growing expeditiously ever since.”

That’s not the only milestone in her professional span that Jackson fondly remembers — there’s one a bit more recent, featuring Jamaican dancehall artist, Spice.

“There have been so many pivotal moments that I am forever grateful for. But one that sticks out in my mind is when Spice, the Queen of Dancehall, reached out to me personally to spearhead the media campaign for her groundbreaking album, Mirror 25, which marked her 25 years in Dancehall. She called me up and said to me,‘You are very passionate–you are a beast at what you do, and I would love for you to generate publicity for my album.’ That moment sticks out because we had worked together before for her GRAMMY-nominated album ‘10,’ where I worked the project as her indie publicist, which was a huge success in itself, but to be called back again for another project that meant so much to her as an independent artist to celebrate her 25th anniversary in the industry was a milestone moment. But most of all, having the opportunity to pray with her and connect on both a personal and professional level was definitely one of the most pivotal moments for sure.”

While her success in the field of public relations is unmatched, there’s another lane where Jackson is poised to continue excelling — the art of pivoting to other endeavors she’s passionate about.

“I am thankful that God has blessed me with the ability to thrive as a multihyphenate in multiple industries simultaneously–from fashion, to beauty, production, and public relations. I know that it is time to expand into a new lane when I feel the nudge and release from God to pursue other passion projects that He puts on my heart. I have always had an interest in fashion and beauty ever since I was a young girl, and dreamed of having my own clothing and beauty line so to launch my fashion brands, Luxe on 7th, Lori Ann, and my hair and beauty brands, Eboyné Royale and On Luxe Beauty, is a dream come true. My love for production was innate; I took theater and production in high school, so writing, production/creative, and acting just came naturally to me, so when I had the opportunity to create a show for BET and produce a fashion show for New York Fashion Week during my earlier years as a publicist, I was so grateful to have the opportunity to exercise my other gifts and passions.”

Jackson’s latest brand, Lori Ann, is another of Jackson’s passion projects, with a sentimental attachment to it, as it honors her late mother.

“When my mother passed away in February 2024, it was a tough and challenging time in my life. She passed away 7 days before her 62nd birthday, and I just remember praying and asking God to help me get through the grief. There is nothing like a mother’s love. As I was going through my grieving process, the Lord began to flood my mind with beautiful memories of my mother. While I was on a flight to tend to her funeral arrangements with my siblings, it came to me to launch Lori Ann, a namesake brand inspired and named after her. It came together so seamlessly. My mother, like my beloved late grandmother, Gearldine Howard, was always known for their impeccable style. My mother raised the bar and set the trends, so her legacy of innovation continues through Lori Ann. Each piece is meticulously designed by me, drawing inspiration from my mother’s effortlessly timeless style but with the customer in mind.”

As Jackson continues to lean into the intersection of purpose and passion, she feels that her motivation to continue telling and shaping stories through her craft will only grow as her journey progresses.

“I believe what has kept me inspired through the industry’s many shifts is my love for genuine storytelling and developing compelling media strategies and campaigns that move the needle and create a lasting, positive impact. I am inspired to continue working in public relations also because I was able to build Divine Influence PR, a viable, results-driven public relations firm from the ground up with the help of the Lord, so I am very inspired to continue to excel and grow as he expands. It was always my dream to work for myself and build my own legacy, and I am grateful to be in a position to do just that. What also keeps me inspired is knowing that my purpose transcends the ‘perfect pitch’ and allows me to make a difference in the lives of every client I encounter as the Lord leads me.”
