Longoria shares Santiago with her husband José Bastón. He was born on June 19, 2018 in Los Angeles. “It’s magical,” the actress told Hola! shortly after her son’s birth, per People. “I feel like I’ve known him my whole life.”

Santiago’s family left the U.S. for homes in Mexico and Spain a few years after his arrival. The move was prompted in part by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I had my whole adult life [in L.A.],” Longoria told Marie Claire at the time. “But even before [the pandemic], it was changing. The vibe was different. And then COVID happened, and it pushed it over the edge. Whether it’s the homelessness or the taxes, not that I want to shit on California—it just feels like this chapter in my life is done now.”

Longoria launched a new docuseries about Spain roughly one year after her move. Titled Eva Longoria: Searching For Spain, the show chronicles her exploration of Spanish culture and her own Spanish heritage.

“Eleven generations ago, one of my ancestors left Spain for the New World and a new life,” Longoria says in the show’s trailer. “Four hundred years later, I’m back to see how the land and its people have created one of the world’s most exciting cuisines.”
