Week 2 of the 2025 NFL season is underway and it’s never too early to start thinking about fantasy football waiver wire options. Last week, we were able to highlight a few players coming out of games on Thursday and Friday — most notably Hollywood Brown and Quentin Johnston.

We’ve still got plenty of action left in Week 2 but so far things have been pretty hectic — both on the scoring front and injury front. Below, we’ll go over the top early pickups to consider coming out of Week 2 off the fantasy football waiver wire.

The Giants’ passing game struggled in Week 1 against the Commanders but that didn’t stop Robinson from quietly having a 6-55-0 line on eight targets. That’s a perfectly reasonable fantasy point total in PPR formats. Going up against a much easier task in Week 2 in the Cowboys defense, QB Russell Wilson actually had time to get the ball to his receivers. Robinson had a huge game, finishing with eight catches on nine targets for 142 yards, good for 24.2 fantasy points.

While Malik Nabers will always be the alpha for the Giants (he had a monster game himself with nine catches for 167 yards and two TDs), Robinson is the very clear No. 2 option in the passing game. People forget Robinson was nearly a top-40 WR last season with 93 catches on 140 targets for 699 yards and three TDs. That production wasn’t great but in PPR, who cares? He’s hauling in enough targets to bring back solid FLEX value and has some WR2 upside depending on the matchup.

We all knew Calvin Ridley would be the top receiving option for the Titans going into the season. What we didn’t know was who might emerge behind him at the wide receiver position. It’s still early, but Ayomanor is looking like the guy. He was the clear No. 2 in terms of snaps in Week 1 (45 snaps, 79%). Going up against a tough Broncos defense wasn’t ideal for production; Ayomanor had seven targets but just two catches for 13 yards.

This week, the Titans were able to move the ball a bit more on offense (though that may be a generous sentiment). The Rams were another tough defensive matchup but Ayomanor was able to haul in four of six targets for 56 yards and a TD, good for 13.6 fantasy points. Tennessee may be one of the worst teams in the NFL but that will give QB Cam Ward and the passing game some positive scripts playing from behind. Ayomanor is a solid add in deeper formats as a player who may go overlooked on the waiver wire.

Kyle Shanahan never ceases to amaze us. With key injuries to QB Brock Purdy and TE George Kittle, the Niners didn’t miss a beat on offense with Jones under center. He was widely viewed as one of the better backup QBs in the NFL and got a gift matchup against the Saints in Week 2, but you’re never sure with a QB being thrust into starting duty. But Jones showed out again, like he did in spot starts last season with the Jaguars.

Rather than lean into the run with Christian McCaffrey and Brian Robinson Jr., Shanahan had Jones throw the ball nearly 40 times on Sunday, completing 26 of 39 passes for 279 yards and three TDs, good for just over 20 fantasy points. If you’re looking for a QB streamer in deeper formats, Jones is a good add. San Francisco has the Cardinals and Jaguars the next few weeks, while Purdy is expected to be sidelined.
