The first trailer has been released for the chilling new reboot of Fear Factor starring Johnny Knoxville of Jackass fame. The popular stunt comedian is famous for putting his body on the line for the sake of comedy. Therefore, it makes perfect sense that he would be the person to figurehead this new project. After all, none of the contestants are doing anything Knoxville wouldn’t try himself for the sake of comedy.

Since his MTV days, Knoxville’s entire career has been based around shock comedy. From intensive pranks to death-defying stunts, it’s easy to say that Knoxville has placed himself in harm’s way for the sake of comedy. Yet, he has finally taken a step back and decided to place himself behind the camera instead of in the middle of the action. He is set to host the new season of the Fear Factor reboot, Fear Factor: The Next Chapter.

With Knoxville’s involvement, the once-forgotten project could finally receive the ratings that studios have been expecting. With Knoxville having any part in the show’s creation, there’s no telling what the contestants could have to partake in. Knoxville is known for getting the best reactions out of his fellow castmates by whatever means necessary. It’s no stretch to say he might do the same with his new contestants.

Either way, after the chilling teaser the studio dropped earlier, all eyes are on the disgusting reboot. Johnny Knoxville’s involvement is probably a fantastic boon for ratings, but contestants of the show should definitely be wary. That said, he is also reportedly extremely kind. If any contestant expresses genuine discomfort, there is no doubt that he will completely shut off his persona and make them feel as comfortable as possible.
