“We’re proud to bring the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network to DIRECTV so Pelicans fans can watch their favorite team,” said Mikel Schaefer, general manager of WVUE-TV and GCSEN. “GCSEN is the exclusive home for all Pelicans non-network games, and with Hall of Famer Joe Dumars putting together an extremely competitive team, it promises to be an incredibly exciting season.”

DIRECTV is aiming to launch GCSEN in time for the 2025-26 NBA season, expanding access to the Pelicans’ regional broadcasts for millions of new viewers across Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

“DIRECTV’s addition of the Gulf Coast Sports & Entertainment Network is a major step forward in bringing Pelicans basketball to fans across our region,” said Greg Bensel, senior vice president of communications, broadcasting, community and government relations for the Saints and Pelicans. “This partnership gives us the potential to reach millions of new viewers. As GCSEN continues to grow, we’re listening to our fans and working to ensure everyone has the opportunity to watch Pelicans broadcasts.”
