The Dallas Mavericks have plenty of doubters going into next season, but they also have a legend supporting them.

Over the past several months, the Mavericks have been among the most interesting teams in all of sports. From trading Luka Doncic in February to landing the No. 1 pick to get Cooper Flagg in the spring, everything has been a bit crazy in Dallas.

Still, GM Nico Harrison believes that his team is capable of making some noise in a tight Western Conference with Anthony Davis anchoring a potentially potent defense. While not everyone believes that Harrison’s roster is built for success, one NBA legend is on his side.

In a recent interview with BetMGM, Hall of Famer Charles Barkley chimed in on what he thinks of the Mavericks. While there have been many doubters in what Dallas is building, Barkley is certainly a believer.

“Let me tell you something, that Dallas Mavericks team, they might be the second-best team in the West if they could ever get healthy,” Barkley said.

It can be hard to argue with what Barkley said in his interview, especially considering how Dallas might look when healthy. However, that seems just as likely to be the Mavericks’ downfall, with Kyrie Irving already out to start the season.

Still, if the Mavericks can get healthy and put something together in the second half of the season, they might be able to climb the standings in the West and even make some noise in the postseason.
