A disturbance within the pulpit on the annual Christian “Stronger Men Conference” has put megachurch founder Pastor Mark Driscoll back within the highlight of controversy.
The former leader of the Mars Hills Church caused a stir when he spoke at a two-day conference on April 12 on the Great Southern Bank Arena in Springfield, Missouri.
The struggling organized religion activist objected to a conference that brought in Alex Magala to perform acrobatic stunts, a skilled martial artist whose sword-swallowing has been featured on stages reminiscent of NBC’s “America’s Got Talent” and as a part of the opening ceremony of the 2014 Olympics 12 months in Sochi.
He also has a past as a Las Vegas stripper. Even though the men present demanded that the speaker be brought back, Lindell insisted that the guest follow the instructions at Matthew 18:16, which reads partially: “If your brother sins against you, go and show him his blame right between the 2 of you.”
“I talked to Mark for half an hour. There wasn’t a single word about it. He’s out of line. If he wants to say it, he can tell me. You may not agree with me, you may disagree with him, but we are brothers in Christ and there is a right way to deal with this,” Lindell said.

Driscoll resigned as pastor at Mars Hill Church amid an investigation into claims he abused his position of power and committed adultery. He strongly denied the accusations.
