Welcome to Jefa’s Desk, a HipLatina series that takes you inside the workspaces of some of the most inspiring and successful Latinas. From entrepreneurs and authors to healers and content creators, we’re showcasing the spaces where jefas get things done, dream big, and stay grounded.
Today, we’re stepping into the world of Annie Vazquez (a.k.a. Annie the Alchemist), a powerhouse whose desk is as multifaceted and inspiring as her career.
Known as Annie the Alchemist or Author Annie, this Miami-born creative is not only a celebrated author and creator, but also the face and brain behind The Fashion Poet, one of the first fashion blogs to ever launch in Miami during the Instagram boom, and the blog that helped catapult her into national recognition. From being featured in Vogue and Marie Claire to appearing on The Today Show, Annie’s journey reflects the power of reinvention and alignment.
Most recently, Annie is focused on expanding her work as an author, building on the success of her “My Little Prayer Book” and “My Little Spiritual Book,” with a new book project in the works. Her writing is deeply rooted in intention and spiritual guidance, offering readers accessible tools for everyday healing. Alongside her authorship, she continues to grow her wellness brand with thoughtful product offerings and leads virtual and in-person workshops on breathwork, manifesting, and energy healing for her global community.
Her desk is where she keeps her crystals, affirmation cards, and manifestation journals, but her work and healing also happen in different corners of her home:
Annie’s coveted IG lives come from the magic of her velvet green couch:

On her soundbowl: “I went to my first sound bowl class back in 2015 (with Jill Rapport, she is the OG in Miami) after bad breakup and it truly helped me get clarity and feel more relaxed. I kept going throughout the years and I loved that it was a different type of mediation that really helped you go in deep and feel calm. In 2021, something told me to get my own bowl so I did and then the rest is history. I use it to clear energy in my space and for my guided meditations.”
Her living room doubles as a space for her Instagram Lives, where she guides her online community through breathwork, meditation, and card pulls, often using tools that live on her desk.

On sage: “I use sage to cleanse and ground my energy. I use it to trace my silhouette and also use it around my space on everything like my laptop, couch, bed and even jewelry. I use palo santo to raise my aura and I really love using it day to day.”
Trinkets spotted throughout her home:

From energy-clearing sprays to affirmation decks and journals, Annie surrounds herself with little ritual objects that serve as both decor and spiritual tools. They live on bookshelves, countertops, and coffee tables, ready for when inspiration (or a reminder to pause) strikes.
On her affirmation cards: “I created them because when I was going through a real tough time in my life, affirmations were a tool that helped me get through. Repetition of affirmations really does wonders. As a former middle school teacher, I made the cards very user friendly so it’s more than affirmation. You get a journal prompt, a crystal recommendation and mini meditation for that affirmation.”

On her pendulum: “My reiki teacher taught me how to use it and I fell in love with it because it answers “yes” or “no” questions. Sometimes you’ll get a “no” on something you were hoping was a “yes” but it’s always spot on. I use it in my lives for people who want to know.”

Annie also works from the open communal workspaces in her building when she’s craving a change of scenery or needs to get into business mode.

On the baby photo she keeps on her fridge: “The baby photo is me at age 3. it’s a reminder to always tap into my inner child and advocate for “little me” at all times. It’s helped me push past my comfort zone and be assertive in times I found challenging. It’s an exercise I have in my last book, “My Little Spiritual Book”.

On this cafetera: “I signed up for a class with Mo Art. She created the class and teaches you how to paint and decorate it. The design was just something I chose because the “evil eye” is my logo.”

On this press feature: “Vogue Brasil reached out to do a piece on me and came and photographed and interviewed me. It was a big moment in my fashion career for my other channel @TheFashionPoet. I started out as a school teacher and freelance writer, and launched a fashion blog back in 2010, at a time when hardly anyone was doing it. Almost no one believed in me, maybe two people did. I had a lot of doors slammed in my face, but I worked hard, stayed focused, and manifested this. It was always an intention of mine.”
