TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Several “local celebrities” played waiter at the annual Child Care Aware of Eastern Kansas Celebrity Waiter soiree fundraiser.
The evening included dinner, a signature drink, an auction, and an evening of live entertainment.
The celebrities competed to raise the most tips.
CEO Sarah Elsen says the funds are a significant contribution to their mission of providing accessible and affordable health care.
“COVID put a spotlight on the need for high-quality childhood education, and parents are realizing it with child care centers unfortunately closing, so this is a very high need right now, and it’s detrimental that we support this,“ Elsen said.
Jared Broyles and David Oliver served as celebrity waiters.
