Big Horn HS Football: For the second time in 3 years, the Big Horn High School football team is the one that every 2A team has marked on their schedules.
The Rams ran the table last year, going 11-0, but graduated 12 seniors from that team, including their quarterback.
Among those returning is junior Cruz Hernandez who led the state in all classes of 11-man football, in average rushing yards per game at 113.7.
He also led Class 2A in kick return average with 34.8 yards per return.
Hernandez says he’s aware that defending champs or not, BH is almost always a marked team.
Head Coach Kirk McLaughlin says being that team that every opponent targets every year, is business as usual, but that does not mean Big Horn is going to go easy on any other team.
The Rams will play a scrimmage on Thursday, August 28th at Casper, against the Natrona County sophomore team.
The season begins on Friday, September 5th at home vs. Lovell.
Sheridan HS Tennis: Sheridan won their home opener yesterday vs. Laramie.
The boys score was 5-zip and the girls score was 3-2.
Both the Broncs and Lady Broncs play again on Friday, as the team starts North conference play at home vs. Natrona County beginning at 10am, and against Kelly Walsh at around 1pm.
Sheridan/Buffalo HS Golf: The Sheridan boys placed 4th and the girls were 5th at the Casper Invitational, which was played earlier this week.
Cole Bunting was the highest finisher for the Broncs individually as he placed 7th, while Camryn Wagner finished in a 3-way tie for 4th on the girls side.
As for Buffalo, the boys were 5th and the girls 2nd at the Lander Invitational.
Junior Addison Bettinger placed first on the girls side for the 2nd time in less than 1 week.
Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies had their 4-game win streak snapped last night, as the team lost at home vs. the LA Dodgers 11-4.
Brenton Doyle and Kyle Karros each hit 2-run home runs, but that was it offensively.
The Rocks and Dodgers will play each other again today starting at 6:40pm.
