Tongue River HS Football: Putting the Elk Fire aside, part of the reason why the Tongue River High School football team went 2-6 last year, was that the team didn’t have a lot of depth.

Numbers were a bit on the low side when the season started, which resulted in fatigue in some games.

Head Coach Steve Hanson says this year numbers-wise, there’s a good crop of new players coming in, and while that may not result in much game experience now, they’ll get their chances and the starters can get a few more breaks on occasion.

The Eagles play one week from tomorrow at Sheridan, against one of the Broncs’ JV teams.

The home opener is on Friday, September 5th vs. Thermopolis.

Sheridan HS Tennis: Sheridan starts North Conference play today with a home double-header.

The Broncs and Lady Broncs host Natrona County starting at 10am, and also play Kelly Walsh beginning at 1pm.

After that the next home matches are next week Friday and Saturday vs. Cody and Powell.

Tongue River/Big Horn HS Golf: Both Tongue River and Big Horn are scheduled to play today at a 1-day meet at Sundance.

Next week the 2 schools will host their lone meet of the season on Friday at Kendrick Golf Course.

Colorado Rockies Baseball: The Colorado Rockies lost yesterday at home vs. the LA Dodgers 9-5, to split the 4-game series.

Brenton Doyle hit a 2-run home run to try to fuel a 9th inning comeback, but it was not enough.

The Rocks now start a 6-game road trip, playing 3 games at Pittsburgh, followed by 3 games at Houston.

First pitch today and tomorrow is scheduled for 6:40pm.

Sunday’s game starts at 10:05am.

Denver Broncos Pre-Season Football: The Denver Broncos play their final pre-season game tomorrow at New Orleans.

Kickoff is scheduled for 11am and you can hear the game LIVE on Fox Sports 106.3 FM.

All NFL teams must cut their rosters to 53 players on or before this coming Tuesday.

The Broncos will start the regular season on Sunday, September 7th at home vs. Tennessee.
