The NFL preseason is officially over, and the next step for teams is to cut down their rosters to 53 players by 4 p.m. ET Tuesday.
Quarterbacks who were dismissed include: the New York Giants’ Tommy DeVito, the Cincinnati Bengals’ Desmond Ridder and the New Orleans Saints’ Jake Haener.

Bengals, Trey Hendrickson reportedly resolve contract dispute: According to ESPN, the Bengals are raising Trey Hendrickson’s 2025 salary to $30 million, and he’s still scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season. Cincinnati confirmed the two sides had agreed on a revised contract. The Bengals had reportedly been reticent to guarantee salary beyond the first year of a prospective extension, and guarantees years into the future is what Hendrickson was reportedly seeking. So there’s resolution, but both sides will still have to revisit their future plans together this offseason.

Terry McLaurin reportedly agrees to 3-year, $96M deal with Commanders: Terry McLaurin is reportedly getting a $30 million signing bonus as part of the deal, and it ends a contract stalemate that resulted in the All-Pro wide receiver requesting a trade. The news is cause for relief in Washington as the Commanders look to build on the breakout rookie campaign of quarterback Jayden Daniels.

Texans place RB Joe Mixon on reserve/non-football injury list: As part of being moved to injured reserve, Joe Mixon will officially miss at least the first four games of the season. The Texans made the announcement on Monday, saying that they will officially move Mixon to IR on Tuesday. The team did not provide any additional details on the injury, saying that it would “provide further updates at an appropriate time.”
