A Southeast Texas nonprofit development center is set to host a conference at the Downtown Event Center in Beaumont on Nov. 4. The event, organized by the Nonprofit Development Center, aims to provide networking, education, and resources to help local nonprofits grow and thrive.
“This is a very unique event,” said Executive Director kayla White. “It’s especially designed with nonprofits in mind, and we are addressing and providing resources that are, you know, thinking with what is happening in the nonprofit sector right now.”
The conference will feature sessions on grant writing and management, as well as a funders panel discussing the current state of nonprofit funding. “A lot of times it’s funding,” White said, referring to challenges faced by nonprofits. “We help with connecting nonprofits to funders and opportunities for applying for grants.”
The center, which serves over 160 nonprofits in the region, offers a range of services including board governance, professional staff development, and partnerships with local organizations. “Nonprofits struggle with things like board governance and funding opportunities,” White explained. “Our goal is to help them be more successful and to connect them to those resources.”
The conference also serves as a fundraiser to support the center’s ongoing work. Tickets are available for $75 for members and $150 for non-members, with registration open on the center’s website until Oct. 21.
