Eva Longoria revealed the advice she received from Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney as she stepped into the world of professional soccer ownership. Longoria has been living abroad while dividing her time between Mexico and Spain with her family. She has returned to the U.S. this week to promote the series.
Speaking on Good Morning America while promoting her new docuseries, Necaxa, Longoria explained how her fellow investors prepared her for the emotional challenges. She said, “They said prepare for heartbreak. Cause sports is so emotional, with all the ups and the downs. It is an emotional roller coaster.”
During the interview, Longoria also reflected on her iconic Desperate Housewives character. She speculated that Gaby Solis would have become a fashion influencer today, saying, “Oh, Gaby? She’d be an influencer. She probably would have been the original fashion influencer.” The actress added, “And Bree too, Bree would have probably been the first Martha Stewart.”
The docuseries focuses on Longoria’s journey as co-owner of Mexican soccer club Club Necaxa. It focuses on an in-depth look at a transformative period for the team, ranging from staff changes to career-changing injuries of the players in the city of Aguascalientes, Mexico. However, despite the ups and downs, the players remain focused on performing well and surpassing expectations.
Necaxa is produced by Longoria along with Reynolds and McElhenney. It premiered on August 7 on FXX and followed a weekly release schedule. The season concludes on September 18.
