Bayern Munich have seen plenty of change this summer with 11 players moving on from Bavaria, including club legend Thomas Muller, after 25 years at the club.
Leroy Sane and Kingsley Coman have also departed to different teams despite being vital figures in Vincent Kompany’s squad.
Bayern Munich now have a vacuum in their leadership roles despite the presence of experienced names such as Manuel Neuer, Harry Kane and Joshua Kimmich.
Recently, Muller sat down for an extensive interview where he nominated a surprising Bayern Munich player who he feels can develop into the next big leader in Bavaria.
“I have a hot take regarding that… Michael Olise,” Muller told BILD when asked about the next Bayern leader.
“Based on the way he conducts himself and his willingness to perform, I see him as an absolute key player for the coming years.

“He can become the player who leads the way for Bayern in the future, as Franck Ribery did in my time. He may be a different character than Franck, but he’s also the kind of guy who clearly says: “Give me the ball, I’ll take care of the rest!” – That’s how you lead a team without being a loudmouth.”
Could Michael Olise become Bayern Munich’s next leader?
The 24-year-old has been one of the best signings for Bayern Munich in recent years and he played a big role in Kompany’s men reclaiming the Bundesliga title in 2024/25.
Olise has already become a fans favourite at Allianz Arena due to his stark consistency and efficiency in the final third.
The France international has hardly put a foot wrong since moving to Bavaria from Crystal Palace in 2024 for a reported €60m [$70m] transfer fee.
The young winger finished a sensational debut season at Bayern Munich with 20 goals and 20 assists in 55 appearances across all competitions. .
While Olise is comparatively new to the Bayern Munich setup, fans and pundits have already compared him to Ribery, and all eyes will be on him in the months ahead.
