The participating teams will be announced on Dec. 7, known as Selection Sunday, when officials from both conferences meet with bowl representatives to determine the most exciting matchup.
Owned and operated by the Detroit Lions, the GameAbove Sports Bowl has quickly become a staple of the college football season.
This year marks the second year with GameAbove Sports as the title sponsor.
“GameAbove is incredibly proud to be associated with one of the best bowl games in the country,” Matt Shepard, GameAbove COO, said. “The thrill of last year’s breathtaking six-overtime game was surpassed only by the zest the city of Detroit and our company has for hosting such a top-tier event.”
Last year’s game was record-setting — featuring the Toledo Rockets from the MAC and the Pitt Panthers from the ACC.
The teams battled through four quarters and six overtimes, ending in a 48-46 victory for Toledo, setting an FBS college football bowl record.
Tickets are now on sale, starting at just $29, and can be purchased through the official website, gameabovesportsbowl.com
