Netflix released the first teaser for The Witcher Season 4, confirming Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. The platform will premiere the eight-episode season worldwide on October 30, 2025. The teaser clip shows Hemsworth’s Geralt battling a ghostly wraith. It marks his first on-screen appearance as the White Wolf after Henry Cavill exited the series following Season 3.

Netflix has shared a teaser clip of The Witcher, showcasing Liam Hemsworth’s first fight as Geralt ahead of the October 30 premiere.

Henry Cavill originally portrayed Geralt in the first three seasons before announcing his departure in October 2022. Cavill posted at the time, “My journey as Geralt of Rivia has been filled with both monsters and adventures, and alas, I will be laying down my medallion and my swords for Season 4. In my stead, the fantastic Mr Liam Hemsworth will be taking up the mantle of the White Wolf.” Cavill later explained during press interviews that balancing his love for Andrzej Sapkowski’s novels that serve as the source material for the Netflix series with the showrunners’ vision had been “the toughest part” of his role.

Hemsworth issued his own statement when the casting was announced. He wrote, “Henry Cavill has been an incredible Geralt, and I’m honoured that he’s handing me the reins and allowing me to take up the White Wolf’s blades for the next chapter of his adventure.” Hemsworth added, “I may have some big boots to fill, but I’m truly excited to be stepping into The Witcher world.”

According to the official logline, Season 4 follows Geralt, Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra), and Princess Cirilla of Cintra (Freya Allan). They remain separated during a continent-wide war, facing enemies and forming unexpected alliances.

Showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich confirmed that the team filmed Seasons 4 and 5 back-to-back and will adapt Sapkowski’s novels Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake. “This is the beginning of a two-season journey for our family to finally reunite and be together — hopefully forever,” Hissrich stated.
