Long before Jennifer Hudson and Common’s recent split rumors, the two award-winning actors starred as husband and wife in the latest motion thriller “Breathe.”

Hudson plays Maya, a young caring mother attempting to survive in a world without oxygen and protect her children, and Common plays her scientist husband, Darius. However, in a recent interview, she shared her feelings when she was seen telling another woman on set, “I love you.”

The film also stars Milla Jovovich and “Beasts of the Southern Wild” actress Quvenzhané Wallis, who plays the couple’s daughter.

In an interview with VIBE magazine, Hudson revealed what she considered the line in the film where Zora tells her father that she loves him. In this scene, Zora reportedly says, “I love you, Black man,” and Darius, played by Common, tells his daughter in response, “I love you, Black woman.”

“I love this poem” he said Hudson. “First of all, I think it’s a beautiful thing to see the black cast talking to each other like that. And secondly, I think it’s in the characters. The character of Darius was very present in books about black history, and I think that was his way of instilling that in his child.

She further explained, “It’s just to show their relationship; a beautiful relationship between a black father and his daughter. I feel like it captured the spirit of what their family represented.

Common and Hudson apparently confirmed their relationship in January when he appeared on her talk show “The Jennifer Hudson Show” after nearly a year of speculation about their frequent sightings.

The rapper has dated several other famous women, including actress and comedian Tiffany Haddish, whom he dated for about a year starting during the Covid-19 pandemic. Fans on social media often troll Common, claiming that he has commitment issues and will never get married.

After the two Chicagoans went to a Bulls game together in December, their first public appearance, one of X’s fans I was wondering“How long will it take?”

Therefore, rumors that Hudson recently rejected Common’s proposal led many to believe that they had officially ended their relationship.

One person sent, “Jennifer Hudson arrived in the car and my mother asked, ‘Why didn’t she marry an ordinary man? (laughing and crying emoji).”

Whether or not the rumors are true, some fans are hoping they don’t seem to be, as lots of them enjoyed seeing the two embrace their budding romance.

One fan he replied“I like this couple, Jennifer is family now, but she doesn’t know it yet. They look very good together. Don’t hurt my girl, Common.

“Breathe” can be available to look at in theaters and on demand from April 26.
