Who is Jesus Alou?

For those not familiar with baseball history, Jesus Alou may not be a household name. However, his contributions to the sport have left an enduring legacy that continues to inspire new generations of Hispanic athletes. Born in the Dominican Republic, Jesus Maria Rojas Alou, better known as Jesus Alou, had a successful career in Major League Baseball (MLB) that spanned nearly two decades.

Jesus Alou is one of the Alou brothers, a trio of siblings who all played in the MLB. He made his debut in 1963 and played until 1979, primarily as an outfielder. Jesus, along with his brothers Felipe and Matty, created a unique piece of baseball history. On September 15, 1963, they became the first (and to this date, only) trio of brothers to occupy the same outfield, playing for the San Francisco Giants.
