• Both Cyrus and Hemsworth—who finalized their divorce in 2020—have moved on, Cyrus with Maxx Morando and Hemsworth with Gabrialla Brooks, who he got engaged to earlier this month.

Miley Cyrus’s marriage to ex Liam Hemsworth may be over, but she’s hung onto some “beautiful” mementos from their time together—including the dress she wore on their first date.

Speaking to Vogue this week, Cyrus said, “I literally have a dress that I had on when I met my ex-husband, and then I have my dress that I wore on our first date. Along with letters and things that I really, I want to savor these kind of beautiful moments of my life.”

She added that “these intimate moments have also been public moments. It’s a little bit tough to decide what piece I want to share and what I would ever allow to be seen.”

Cyrus and Hemsworth originally met on the set of the film The Last Song in 2009 and were off-and-on—including getting engaged in 2012 before splitting the next year—before their 2016 engagement was announced. They married in 2018, split for the final time in 2019, and finalized their divorce in early 2020. At the time of their breakup, a rep issued a statement to People that the two were “Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and [their] careers.”

After the couple married in December 2018, Cyrus later said she knew her marriage was over just six months later, while at the Glastonbury Music Festival in June 2019. “So Glastonbury was in June, which was when the decision had been made that me and Liam’s commitment to be married just really came from a place of love first,” she explained in a TikTok video, via E! News. “Because we’ve been together for 10 years—but also from a place of trauma and just trying to rebuild as quickly as we could.”

“The day of the show was the day that I had decided that it was no longer going to work in my life to be in that relationship,” she continued.

Cyrus has been with musician Maxx Morando since they met on a blind date in 2021: “Well, it was blind for me and not really for him,” Cyrus told British Vogue in 2023. “I thought, ‘The worst that can happen is I leave.’”

Cyrus mostly keeps her relationship with Morando out of the spotlight, but told Harper’s Bazaar, “He looks at life really differently than I do. He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my brothers and sisters.”

Morando, 26, is six years younger than Cyrus, who is 32. Despite their age difference, she said, “He’s very similar to me. We just don’t take life too seriously.”

For his part, Hemsworth has also moved on and recently announced his engagement to model Gabriella Brooks earlier this month.
