GWINN, Mich. (WLUC) – The Up North Lodge in Gwinn celebrated the end of summer with a fundraiser Sunday night.
The community came together for the last Bike Night fundraiser of the season. Up North Lodge General Manager Jesie Melchiori says they raised a total of over $48,000 since June. The money goes back into local nonprofits.
Melchiori says the turnout for these fundraisers shows how well the community comes together.
“Whether it be those in the local area, those in Marquette, those in Negaunee, Ishpeming; they all take care of their own,” Melchiori said. “They show up week after week after week to donate, be part of the festivities and just give back.”
Melchiori thanks the community for participating and can’t wait for next summer. She says the restaurant will now plan for next year by finding more nonprofits to support.
