William Shatner’s friends are urging him to slow down amid reports that he was rushed to the hospital due to issues with his blood sugar, a source tells the National Examiner.

“Bill is constantly on the go and signing up for work commitments and personal appearances,” says the source.

The Star Trek legend, 94, is also hands-on when it involves the upkeep at his horse ranch and taking care of his dogs, adds the source.

“He just loves being busy and says it keeps him alive,” says the source.

“It’s incredible how he finds the energy for all this but at some point reality has to set in and his friends have said it’s not sensible to be so hard on his body,” continues the source. “But Bill’s as stubborn as an ox and says there’s no way he’s ready to live like a little old man.”

But Shatner exclusively tells Examiner he’s just fine. “The true statement is that I’m not ready to live like an old man,” the Masked Singer alum says in an email.

“The false statement is being hospitalized,” he adds, explaining that reports of an emergency response vehicle was the result of “a mistaken address.”

Shatner assures Examiner, “I was never in any dire situation.”
