LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – A Lake Charles non-profit organization is offering help for educators and schools with innovations that need funding to come to fruition.

The Junior League of Lake Charles has been serving the community for over 90 years, from the special advocacy center to the children’s museum.

This year the nonprofit is offering two educator grants for local schools and teachers:

Melissa Ann Cox Teach grant: $5,000; deadline Oct. 11
Branch Out and Grow grant: $500-$2,500; deadline Nov. 1; applicants must be from Calcasieu, Cameron, Allen, Beauregard and Jeff Davis parishes.
