Sean “Diddy” Combs was the victim of a near-knife attack while in the Metropolitan Detention Center, a close friend claimed to the media
Diddy was threatened with a weapon
Charlucci Finney, a longtime friend of Diddy, told The Daily Mail on Wednesday, Oct. 22, that the disgraced Bad Boy boss “woke up with a knife to his throat” in his Metropolitan Detention Center jail cell in Brooklyn, New York.
“I don’t know whether he fought him off or the guards came,” said Finney, who has known Combs for more than 30 years. He did not say when the life threatening episode occurred. “I just know that it happened.”
The alleged innmate wanted to threaten Diddy
He speculated that the frightening encounter was meant more as a threat than an actual attempt to take Diddy out.
“If this guy had wanted to harm him, Sean would have been harmed,” Finney said. “It would only take a second to cut his throat with a weapon and kill him.
The friend continued, saying, “It was probably a way to say: ‘Next time you ain’t gonna be so lucky,’” he added. “Everything is intimidation. But with Sean, it won’t work. Sean is from Harlem.”
Finney remains fond of his buddy Diddy and described him as “unbreakable” and a “lovable caregiver, a father, brother [and] best friend.”
Based on the charges that wer levied at Diddy, Finney reminds the public that inmates at notorious lock-ups like the Metropolitan Detention Center are particularly brutal to men who are accused of sexual-related crimes.
Diddy was convicted on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, otherwise known as the Mann Act, but was acquitted of the more serious charges of sex trafficking and racketeering (or RICO). Those latter two charges could have landed Diddy in prison for the rest of his life. And it could have subjected Diddy to imminent danger in prison.
“The prisoners take it personal,” he explained. “They look at it like, it could have been my mom, my auntie, my daughter. They try to get what they call prison justice. And you have to understand, we are not talking about a regular person. We’re talking about Diddy.”
Diddy thought he was going to get off with time served
In related news, Diddy was reportedly shocked that he was handed a significant prison term from Judge Arun Sabramanian, according to a source who spoke exclusively with the National Enquirer.
“He really believed he’d get out with time served, his lawyers promised.”
In fact, Diddy was so sure “he’d be a free man again,” that he booked a speaking engagement in South Florida that was to take place a week after the sentencing hearing.
That, of course, did not happen. Sabramanian not only did not allow Diddy to go home after he was convicted in July to the time he was sentenced on Oct. 3; he also slapped Diddy with a 50-month prison term, five years of supervised release, and a $500,000 fine, the maximum allowable under the law.
“Now all his plans are in limbo,” said the source, adding that his rumored “comeback tour” and the “deals he had in place are on hold.”
