The governor says state agencies have gotten word from the federal government that they’re already pushing to bring the National Guard to Chicago.

Hundreds gathered at the River Bend Food Bank Monday for the student hunger drive, it’s a friendly competition that raises money to fight hunger in the Quad Cities.

Police say they were called to the same West Locust Street home twice Saturday night — first for a domestic disturbance, then hours later for an attack that left a woman dead.

Local lawmakers on both sides of the aisle also have various focuses ahead of this high-stakes deadline and fear the impacts to come.

Tim Hagle, political science professor at The University of Iowa says there are various impacts that come could come with this.

The 9-year-old makes a variety of crafts and sells them, with all proceeds benefitting the children’s hospital with toys and books. So far, she’s raised over $6,000.
