PHILLIPS, WI (WJFW) — Millions of people struggle with addiction every year, and at His House of Hope Recovery Center in Phillips, they have helped Numerous men overcome their addictions since opening, and find their faith in religion along the way.
House of Hope opened in 2024 and is a residential treatment facility for men who struggle with addiction. It is a live-in facility where the men are there for 12-18 months redoing themselves and finding faith through the bible. Executive Director of His House of Hope Robert Knaack is aware of the challenges people can go through, having struggled with addiction himself.
“We all fall short, we all fall down, we all hit rough patches and we are just here to help the least of these.” Said Knaack. “Helping the people that need the help, and in our area there’s not that many resources so we decided that this would be the perfect establishment for this program.”
Men who enter the program go through three phases within their stay. All leading to going into full time work and helping them find a living space, while slowly guiding them to get back on the right track in the life they lead. Quentin McGuire, a resident of the program is thankful he was able to receive the help he needed with House of Hope.
“I was in a cycle of addiction to where things just fall apart. Said McGuire. “And people just say Oh well, ya know just oh well. And just to come here and finally have people that love me, like for real, was overwhelming.”
The program also teaches the members new activities and hobbies, giving them a chance to find talents and gifts that they may have not known about themselves.
“We’re able to see these gifts as they’re sober and then amplify them so that they can go out and spread the good news of Jesus Christ.” Continued Knaack.
The program runs on donations and volunteer work, and can be supported through their website and many upcoming events. His House of Hope continues to welcome all who struggle with addiction and help put them on the right path with the help of faith as well as supporting each other throughout the process.
