This is a big month for Kate Hudson’s daughter Rani Rose! The little girl turned 7 at the beginning of October, and this week, she celebrated a milestone occasion with her mom by her side. The How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days star shared the sweetest video of the big event on TikTok, and she looked even more nervous than her daughter!
“👑💎💖,” Hudson cryptically captioned a post of her, Rani, and other girls gathered around. The big event in question? Rani got her ears pierced!

In the video, Rani sits on a chair in her living room, while someone (likely her dad and Hudson’s fiancé Danny Fujikawa) asks, “Do you want to hold Mommy’s hand?” Rani nods, and Hudson quickly joins her. Now, Rani sits on her mom’s lap, with her hair up in a bun, as she waits patiently for the jab that’ll pierce her ears.
“You’re being very cool right now. I love how brave you’re being,” Fujikawa says from off camera. But even though Rani is calm, Hudson is doing some deep breathing as the technician gets ready to pierce her daughter’s ears. It’s not easy to watch as a mom!
When it’s time for the second ear, Hudson encourages her daughter to “take a deep breath in like you’re meditating.” It’s over in seconds, and Rani shows off her new earrings with a smile! She is so incredibly cute and happy.
“Oh my god, Rani! They’re so beautiful,” Hudson praises. Rani looks in the mirror and in the cutest little voice says, “I have my ears pierced!” Every girl remembers getting their ears pierced for the first time and finally being able to wear earrings. It’s truly a milestone memory, and we love how Rani’s was so special.
“Such a sweet moment when she looked in the mirror. 💜” one person commented on the precious post. Someone else wrote, “Stop it, she’s so cute! A mini Kate.”

On Oct. 2, the Song Sung Blue star shared a heartwarming compilation video of Rani in honor of her birthday. “My little lady is 7 today! My sweet sparkly sassy silly sunshine girl!” she captioned a video set to Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Want to Have Fun.” “You are the light of my life 🌟🎂🎉☀️🌟 I love you! Happy Birthday ⚖️ ♎️,” Hudson added.
Hudson, who is also mom to sons Ryder, 21, with ex Chris Robinson, and Bingham, 14, with Matt Bellamy, told PEOPLE last year how much her daughter reminds her of herself.
“She’s the best. She’s so magical,” Hudson revealed. “She’s definitely her mother’s daughter. It takes her forever to get out of the house. She’s very particular about her wardrobe and her clothes and her vibe.”
“She is just a total firecracker, but then she’s much more emotional than I think I was when I was little. She’s much more of an empath where I was like, yeah. She’s just very empathetic and emotional,” Hudson noted.
In an earlier interview with PEOPLE, Hudson mentioned how her daughter is already raiding her closet. “[Rani] is already going through my shoes, and I catch her kind of opening my closet doors and looking in, peering into certain things, and I’m like, ‘Oh, it just already belongs to Rani,’” Hudson told the outlet. “So one day I’m sure I’ll start to see things go missing.”
Now, her earrings will probably go missing too (but that’s just the price moms have to pay for this adorable bonding moment!).
