Kenan Thompson Calls on Nickelodeon to ‘More Investigate’ Harassment Allegations Revealed in ‘Silence on Set’ Documentary news

Kenan Thompson shared his opinion on the documentary “Silence on Set: The Dark Side of Children’s Television” in an interview with Tamron Hall on her Wednesday show.

“It’s a difficult topic. It’s hard for me because I can’t really comment on things I’ve never witnessed,” Thompson said on the talk show, according to Entertainment Weekly. “Basically all of this happened after I left. Dan (Schneider) wasn’t actually on Kenan & Kel. It was called ‘created by’ but it was a different showrunner.”

During his stay, he also mentioned his recent production company, Artists for Artists, and his long tenure on “Saturday Night Live,” and promoted his recent memoir, “When I Was Your Age: Life Lessons, Funny Stories & Conquestable Parenting Advice” From a Professional Clown .

Thompson began his profession as a young actor and comedian in the teenager sketch show “All That” on Nickelodeon. He then starred in the comedy series “Kenan & Kel” alongside castmate Kel Mitchell. Ultimately, the 2 became the most important characters of the feature film “Good Burger”, which was also produced by Nickelodeon.

“Silence on Set: The Dark Side of Children’s Television” is a five-part documentary series that exposes a toxic work environment and details kid’s television producer Dan Schneider’s allegations of on-set harassment and mistreatment. Schneider is chargeable for producing various Nickelodeon kid’s shows, including “Drake & Josh,” “iCarly,” “Victorious,” “All That,” “The Amanda Show,” “Kenan & Kel” and plenty of others which have aired in the Nineteen Nineties and early twenty first century.

“It’s good that the doctor is no longer around and showing things that need to be shown, stories that need to be told for the sake of responsibility,” Thompson told Hall. “But it’s definitely hard to watch because I actually have fond memories of that place. I actually have fond memories of my co-workers. It’s really hard to hear that they have been through such terrible things.

Thompson said he has not watched the documentary but expressed his love and support for the victims featured in it.

“All this negativity started happening outside of our work (at Nickelodeon),” he continued. “I didn’t really realize it, but my heart goes out to any victim or their family.”

“Silence on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV” will air its fifth additional episode, “Breaking the Silence,” on Sunday, April 7, on Investigation Discovery.

During the conversation, Hall mentioned that her team had reached out to Nickelodeon for comment, stating that the network was investigating all allegations. Thompson chimed in, calling on Nickelodeon to do its due diligence.

“Well, investigate further,” Thompson said. “This is meant to be a secure space. This is meant to be a secure place for kids. Hearing all this, I hear, “How dare you.”
