PORTLAND (WGME) — A nonprofit in Maine is giving back to families at a children’s hospital.
The Babygirl Foundation was created in honor of Addison, a girl diagnosed with a rare genetic condition.
Her family spent months in the Barbara Bush Hospital’s Pediatric Intensive Care Unit caring for her.
After their experience, Addison’s family created “parent closets” stocked with supplies for families facing unexpected hospital visits.
Addison’s mom and president of Babygirl, Tammy Dube, says she wants to give back to parents in difficult times.
Dube says the Babygirl Foundation has now created a book nook in the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital for families to enjoy.
