Nicole Kidman has always wanted to write her memoir, and a source tells the National Enquirer that it’s highly likely to finally happen now that she’s entering a new chapter in the wake of her divorce from Keith Urban.
“Whatever the particulars of Tom Cruise and Nicole’s divorce 25 years ago were, she knew at the time it would have been a horrible idea to write a tell-all about her time with Tom,” the source explains. “It would have been a huge distraction from the path she was on, and it would have taken over her life right when she was finally on the verge of breaking through as an A-lister in her own right.”
But, the source adds, “decades later, it’s a different story — and Nicole has lived a lot of life since 2001. She’s won awards, made hit projects that she helped originate, and raised an entire other family. No matter what happened with her and Keith, their daughters are a huge point of pride for her. What better can she leave them than her own authentic story, immortalized in print for all time?”
The source says the only obstacle is her “incredibly busy schedule,” since Kidman, 58, “packs one movie and miniseries in after another.”

“Nicole is going to tell her story, but she has to be intentional about it,” the source continues. “She wants to write something that can actually sell hundreds of thousands of copies — not a vanity project or a puff piece. For Nicole to do this right, she knows she has to make something just as revealing as all the award-winning acting and producing she’s done over the years. If she can’t do that same kind of thing on the page, it’s just not worth it.”
Kidman and Urban, 57, married in 2006, and welcomed two daughters, Sunday Rose, 17, and Faith Margaret, 14, during their time together. On September 29, news broke that the longtime couple had separated, and the following day, the Babygirl actress officially filed for divorce.
