The filing came a day after reports claimed the couple had quietly separated early this summer. The two had been together since 2005 and share two children, 17-year-old Sunday and 14-year-old Faith.
While many fans were shocked by the split, some say they aren’t all that surprised — especially after seeing a resurfaced interview clip where, they say, Keith looked “over it.”

The clip in question is from September 2024 and shows the singer appearing to become noticeably tense when asked about his relationship during an interview on the Australian radio show Jonesy and Amanda. “Speaking of your amazing love story with Nicole,” host Amanda Keller began as Keith visibly tensed up. “You met at G’Day Australia. Is that what it’s called?”
“Uh, G’Day LA,” Keith corrected.
Amanda then asked if he thought their paths would have “inevitably” crossed if they hadn’t met that day. Keith quickly cut her off: “Yeah, probably.” He then continued talking over her, seemingly trying to move the conversation along, but Amanda pressed on.

“Are you a believer in fate?” she asked. “Or do you think it’s two Australians that would have answered?” “No idea,” he replied, barely stopping to consider the question. Meanwhile, host Brendan “Jonesy” Jones let out a nervous laugh.
“You never know! It’s fate, it’s the universe,” Branden added, trying to lighten the mood. But at that point, Keith clearly seemed over the question. “Anyway, moving on!” he said, firmly.
Now, amid the couple’s divorce, people are looking back at the clip in a new light.
“He is UNCOMFORTABLE,” one person commented, as a second fan agreed, “He’s extremely uncomfortable.”
“Oh, he was OVER IT,” someone said, as another person noted, “His face turned SO fast.”

“His body language says it all,” one person wrote, as someone else shared, “He was so disinterested.”
“He already looked checked out here,” read another comment. “Normally he’d be all gushy,” another person said. “The signs were obviously there.”
One more person added, “I think this actually very sad, like she’s talking about true love and fate – meanwhile they’re breaking up.”
But at the same time, others jumped to Keith’s defense, suggesting that he had boundaries and simply didn’t want to discuss his relationship with Nicole on-air.
“Those were ridiculous questions in the first place,” one viewer wrote, as another shared, “He should not have to tell them, about his private life, that’s between him & Nicole.”
That’s not the only time Keith has shut down a question about Nicole, either. Two months ago, in July, he also left a radio interview after being asked about Nicole filming love scenes with younger men, such as Zac Efron.
