With several new movies and TV shows coming out over the next few weeks, the stars are out in full force, with press tours taking place in NYC, LA, and even London. This is great news for us normal folk — not only are we getting new fall shows to watch, but we also get to see our favorite A-listers dressed up in their best fall ‘fits as they promote upcoming projects.

Over the last week, Hollywood stars have served up all sorts of great looks, and I’ve been diligently taking notes for my own seasonal wardrobe. Allison Williams was a particular favorite this week, sporting several different matching sets in NYC, and we also saw noteworthy fashion moments from Emma Stone, Blake Lively, Anne Hathaway, and more.

That’s not to say every look was a win — there were a few questionable style choices, too. I’m talking bizarre purses, “cheugy” UGGs, and even a bowler hat that I’d like to send back to the 1920s. So if you enjoy analyzing celebrity fashion as much as I do, here are my favorite looks from the past week, as well as the outfits that flopped.

Allison Williams is currently on a press tour for “Forgetting You,” the highly anticipated film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel, and we have to tip our hats to her stylist, as all her looks have been absolute perfection. The 37-year-old actress has been photographed in NYC wearing everything from chic power suits to show-stopping ballgowns, but my personal favorite is this simple dark blue matching set.

The look is sophisticated and flattering, but the best part? Both the top and bottom are actually from GAP! You can shop the exact look below — it would be perfect for a holiday work event or fall wedding.

Emma Stone is also in the Big Apple doing press for an upcoming film, and while all her looks have been gorgeous, I’m particularly fond of this iconic ‘90s throwback. The all-green ensemble is an archival look from Donna Karan’s Spring 1996 fashion collection, and if it looks familiar, that’s because Gwyneth Paltrow wore the exact outfit in the 1998 film “Great Expectations.”

The silky ‘fit includes a long-sleeve blouse and maxi skirt in a bold leafy green color, and Stone finished off the look with a pair of classic black Manolo Blahnik sandals.

Blake Lively has been keeping a low profile in the past few months, but she was seen in NYC this week looking as fashionable as ever. She opted for a monochromatic outfit, wearing a burgundy leather dress with a cinched corset waist — a look from the Sergio Hudson Fall 2025 collection. The actress paired the autumnal look with a matching Chanel purse and gem-encrusted Louboutin heels, turning the NYC sidewalk into her very own runway.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a red monochrome look this year, either — Reese Witherspoon wore a fabulous pantsuit in the same trendy hue last week.

I tend to have strong opinions when it comes to fashion, and if you told me that I’d be praising someone for wearing a skirt over pants, I’d generally think you were crazy. However, Anne Hathaway proved once and for all that this controversial style can look good, rocking a flowing midi skirt over a pair of black trousers at the Golden Heart Awards this week.

Her all-black outfit was entirely by Michael Kors, featuring a knotted black belt, short-sleeve cashmere top, and oversized envelope clutch. Not only did she look sleek and professional, but I bet she was also comfortable, even in the chilly NYC weather. A win-win, if you ask me.

‘Tis the season of the trench coat. We’ve already seen A-listers like Emma Stone and Anne Hathaway wearing ankle-length coats this year, and Kristen Bell decided to get in on the trend, too. On her way to “The Tonight Show” on Thursday, she covered up her sparkly outfit with a double-breasted trench coat in a versatile ecru color. She completed the seasonal look with a pair of oversized sunglasses and this chic DeMeillier handbag. While the actress’s trench is undoubtedly designer, you can get a similar jacket for your own wardrobe for a fraction of the price — and it will still look every bit as stylish.

Who needs a fancy outfit when you’re naturally beautiful? Scarlett Johansson attended the Newport Beach Film Festival Honors this week, where she took home the Legend & Groundbreaker Award, and we can’t help but appreciate the simplicity of her outfit for the event. The LBD is from Prada and features a flared skirt with three adorable jeweled buttons up the front. The 40-year-old A-list actress completed the understated look with black pumps and a few delicate pieces of jewelry, yet she undoubtedly had one of the best looks of the night.

Fall in New England is often dreary and gray, but never fear — Jackie Tohn is here to add some much-needed brightness to the streets of NYC. The 45-year-old actress is currently promoting the new series of Netflix’s “Nobody Wants This” alongside Kristen Bell, and we’re absolutely loving her vibrant fashion choices.

This particular outfit includes a mustard yellow coat overtop a pair of cream-colored trousers and a silky blouse, complete with a matching tie, and it would be quite easy to dupe the cheery look for your own fall wardrobe.

Not every celebrity look was a win this week, and while Brie Larson did have some stylish moments, I fear this wasn’t one of them. The “Captain Marvel” star was in NYC all week, and this butter yellow ensemble definitely caught my eye… but the more I looked at it, the more confused I became.

I have so many questions: Is she carrying a bag of cookies? What on earth is all over her skirt? After doing a little digging, I found that the look is from Moschino, which is known for its playful and often comedic designs, but the whole outfit is just a little too out there for me.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s latest outfit proved to be polarizing among the members of the AOL Shopping team. Personally, I think it misses the mark — the cuffed jeans with UGGs make me cringe — but other team members say it’s a cute and comfy ‘fit for running errands or picking up the kids from school. So we’re relying on you to settle our debate: Is it a cozy fall outfit, or should she have left it in her closet?

I took several courses on fashion history during college, so I’m all too familiar with the bowler hat (or derby hat) that was all the rage in the early 1900s. However, in my opinion, we should definitely leave the trend there — it’s goofy and unflattering.

Jason Momoa disagrees with my fashion take, though. He was spotted wearing an extra-tall bowler hat not just once, but twice this week. (Upon further research, it appears he’s actually been wearing this exact hat for years, which would explain its disheveled appearance.) The “Aquaman” star is known for this quirky style, but this one isn’t doing it for me.
