Prize Fest added a new event this year – an outdoor barbecue lunch event right in the middle of Texas Street in downtown Shreveport.

Chef Tristen Epps, winner of Season 22 of “Top Chef” on Bravo Network, was scheduled to attend Prize Fest and the Food Prize competitions in Shreveport this year. Gregory Kallenberg said Epps suggested adding a barbecue event and the “Celebrity Chef BBQ” was born.  

The event was sold-out and participating local chefs included Cindy Gleason Johnson, Hardette Harris, and others. 

Food Prize finals

The Food Prize finalists will compete for the Golden Fork award on Saturday.

The finalists are chefs Jasmine Cherry, Chelsea Girard, and Dylan Teekell.  

These three chefs were set to compete on the streets of downtown Shreveport in a live cooking contest, Battle of the Golden Fork, on Saturday night, but the chance of storms has caused the event to be postponed.
