APPLICATIONS FOR 2026 2027 ARE NOW OPEN FOR ANY ORGANIZATION OR PROGRAM THAT FALLS INTO ONE OF FIVE CATEGORIES SAFETY, HEALTH, EDUCATION, CULTURE AND ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY. FOR THE 2025 2026 FISCAL YEAR, THE COUNTY ALLOCATED $1.8 MILLION FOR GRANT FUNDING TO MORE THAN TWO DOZEN ORGANIZATIONS. APPLICANTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO DETAIL WAYS THE GRANT WOULD HELP THEM ACHIEVE, AND WHAT AMOUNT OF FUNDING THEY’RE LOOKING FOR. NONPROFITS AWARDED CAN EXPECT TO SEE FUNDING BEGIN IN JULY OF 2026. Forsyth County is inviting local nonprofits to apply for its 2026-2027 grant program, offering funding in specific categories including safety, health, education, culture, and economic opportunity.For the 2025-2026 fiscal year, the county allocated $1.8 million in grant funding to more than two dozen organizations. Applicants are encouraged to detail how the grant would assist them and specify the amount of funding they seek. Nonprofits awarded grants can expect funding to begin in July 2026, following the county’s budget allocation next year.Bailey Arnold, the grant administrator for Forsyth County, explained that the application process might be familiar to nonprofits that have applied for other funding programs. “One of the big questions is always, what was the biggest and largest award?” Arnold said. “Is there a maximum that we can request? There’s no maximum. We just ask nonprofits to be mindful of what their budget is and really request what you need.
