LAKE CHARLES, La. (KPLC) – Three Southwest Louisiana nonprofits are receiving a total of $300,000 in grant funding from CHRISTUS HEALTH to help fund community health initiatives.

The three nonprofits are:

Catholic Charities of Southwest Louisiana
Family and Youth Counseling Agency Inc.
Family Foundation of Southwest Louisiana

This morning, the three organizations were recognized in a ceremony at CHRISTUS Ochsner St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles.

The funding awards are provided by the CHRISTUS Community Impact Fund.

“We know that there are needs in the community, and this is just another way for us to support those efforts,” Jessica Guerra, Program Manager of Community Development at CHRISTUS Health, said.

The CHRISTUS Community Impact Fund was launched in 2011 and has invested more than $25 million into communities, according to CHRISTUS. This year, the fund will distribute a total of $3.7 million to organizations in Texas, Louisiana, and Mexico.
