LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — The La Crosse Area Community Foundation announced two new major grants today, focusing on helping nonprofits fulfill their missions while continuing their daily operations.

The grants will fund internal growth and leadership workshops for this year’s recipients: the 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection Center and The Good Fight Community Center.

“We’ve entered some organizations into a program where we’re surrounding them with dollars and support and are going to be in partnership with them for several years. The real indicator of success is going to come after that grant period is over,” said Lauren Journot, Impact Director of the La Crosse Area Community Foundation.

The grant program is designed to help recipient organizations grow and become self-sustaining over time. Rather than providing one-time funding, the foundation plans to work in partnership with these nonprofits for several years, offering both financial support and additional resources.

The 7 Rivers LGBTQ Connection Center serves the LGBTQ+ community in the La Crosse area, while The Good Fight Community Center focuses on community outreach and support services.

Both recipient organizations will participate in leadership workshops and receive support for internal growth initiatives as part of the comprehensive grant program.
