SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Rural community and business leaders from across California have raised $115,200 for Modoc County nonprofits. This generous contribution was presented on Tuesday at the Modoc County Board of Supervisors meeting.
The funds were collected during the County Basket Drawing and Auction at the Rural County Representatives of California’s 2025 Annual Meeting in September. The auction featured county-themed baskets from each of RCRC’s 40 member counties, and the proceeds were directed to nonprofits in the county of the RCRC Board Chair.
“These contributions are more than just a donation; they are a powerful investment in the future and well-being of Modoc County. I’m incredibly grateful to our rural community, including our local government and business leaders from across the state, for their extraordinary generosity and commitment to Modoc County,” said RCRC Board Chair and Modoc County Supervisor Geri Byrne.
The funds will support ten local organizations, including Modoc County 4-H, Calvada History Foundation, and Modoc Harvest, among others. The donation aims to strengthen these nonprofits’ efforts to improve the lives of Modoc County residents.
The annual auction raised a record amount, providing a significant boost to the community’s ongoing development and support initiatives.
