AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Two local nonprofits came together to host a concert to raise money for animals in foster care.

Stray to Stay Outreach and SPCA Aiken hosted the Atlanta Rhythm Section on Saturday for a concert.

There was also an adoption drive during the event so people could meet the newest members of their family.

One of the organizers talked about why he decided to help the two nonprofits.

“It’s just a cause that we believe in. And we love animals. We have a farm up in North Georgia, and we’ve got lots of animals. So we just like to put the two things together, our favorite things: animals and music. And like I said, use the captive audiences that we have to showcase the dogs that are in need,” said Richard Smith, Captive Music Group.

The event was one night only, but the animals in need are still in the area.
