SPRINGFIELD – A task force wants a consultant to develop a policy to increase the number of nonprofits making payments to Springfield in lieu of taxes.

City Councilor Victor Davila, who heads the City Council New Revenue Special Committee, announced he will work with Mayor Domenic J. Sarno and the City Council to hire a consultant to develop rules to negotiate with the nonprofits.
