EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WEAU) – The nonprofit Ski Sprites will soon open its annual haunted house for the season.
On Thursday, October 16, you can officially follow the twisted yellow brick road for a good cause. This year, the Ski Sprites have transformed this space into a dark re-imagining of The Wizard of Oz, where familiar characters have taken a terrifying turn. The Ski Sprites put on free weekly ski shows at Lake Altoona Beach and compete in state and national tournaments. The haunted house is the club’s largest annual fundraiser and has been ongoing for 25 years. The proceeds raised will go towards new equipment and fuel for travel. The Ski Sprites’ President Duncan Riedi said he loves building the set for the haunted house.
“My favorite part, as a technology-oriented person, is I love all the computer and electronics stuff that we do that really adds to the immersiveness of the rooms and adds to the scare.”
The haunted house will be open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. until November 1st. For anyone who dares to make their way through this haunted house, tickets are $14 per person or $13 with a donation to Feed My People. For more information, visit here.
