The next quarterly meeting for Chaffee County Women Who Care (CCWWC) will be at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 14 at A Church, 419 D St.
Social time is at 5 p.m. with hors d’ oeuvres provided by Mo Burrito, followed by the program at 5:30 p.m.
The membership will hear presentations from local nonprofit organizations Ark-Valley Humane Society, The Alliance and Salida Montessori Charter School. Once each nonprofit makes their pitch, the CCWWC members vote. The nonprofit with the most votes receives the entire award, which is determined by multiplying $100 times the number of members. The group currently has 180 members, according to a press release.
The group will also hear from the July award winner, Chaffee County Search and Rescue South. A representative will share an update on how they used their $17,300 donation.
The group is always looking for new members; anyone interested can fill out the membership form at WeCareChaffee.com/join-us.
Volunteers are also needed to join the steering committee and help with quarterly meetings. To volunteer or get more information, email [email protected] or visit WeCareChaffee.com.
